Stylish lighting feature mimics the curves of the space it inhabits
The impactful luminaire we designed has a subtle Cubist feel that mirrors the curves of the interior. In total 83 crystal pieces in three sizes were used, suspended either vertically or horizontally by delicate cables
 
Carefully positioned horizontal uplighter units are interspersed between the crystal elements to ensure as much light as possible reflects off the upcycled elements, creating the impression that they’re sparkling internally. The 15 handmade units are the only light sources within the piece (they encase customised LED strips) and are finished in an antique brass
The suspended components hang from a very large ceiling plate measuring 3m x 1.5m. The fabricated steel plate has a matt white powder-coated finish to match the ceiling colour, and the depth of the plate is minimal yet secure enough to hold the weight of the installation
Depending on the viewing angle, the arrangement of the crystals and uplighters generate varying impressions, from airy and calm to compact and tumultuous
